Can You SPARE Any Information On Local BOWLIN' ALLEYS?

Yo dudes I love bowling and I bet many of you do too! What are yer favorite places to rock 'n' bowl? I'll start:

1) Saratoga Lanes in Maplewood - I always heard it was the oldest bowling alley west of the Mississippi but in recent times could not find any corroboration of that. Lots of pool tables, too, and the super-sweet above-ground ball-return, not to mention hand-scoring! They're frequently hosting private events, so call ahead.

2) Crest Bowl in Florissant - They have trivia/karaoke combination nights, Elvis karaoke competitions, and their house balls are color-coded according to weight, which is an idea that more bowling alleys DEFINITELY need to pick up...oh yeah, and anyone on a league bowls free any day, anytime during the months while that league is in session!

3) Shrewsbury Lanes - Relatively cheap, lotsa lanes, and nice people workin' there, if you can find it--kinda tucked away there.

4) Epiphany Lanes - Haven't been to 'em yet (hoping to go within the next day or two and will report back here afterwards), but with those prices on both bowling and beer (and given that photo gallery), how could you go wrong?

5) Olivette Lanes (no official site, sorry) - Tons o' lanes, decently-priced, and the bar is pretty awesome at this big purple box of a bowling alley.

Anyway, I love a bunch more, and tend to dislike others (even if they are open 'til 3:00AM), but I'll let the masses discuss! It's a forum, that's what we're here fer!

I love Saratoga Lanes, except for the smoke. It gets really bad in there. I've been trying to make it to the Pin Up Bowl and the Moolah for a while now, but I just haven't had the time.

Agreed about the smoke at Saratoga--typically it's not as noticeable at larger alleys because there's more open air. I went to a bowling alley in Illinois the other day (St. Clair Bowl) and it had FIFTY LANES! I'm not sure I've ever seen a bowling alley with so many lanes. Even if you WERE allowed to smoke in there, it probably would be pretty innocuous (at least, at noon on a Friday).

I like Olivette lanes a lot. Not a bad place. How about Tropicana Lanes?. Nice 1960's space pad looking place prices aren't bad either, big bar and also centrally located, not hard to get to from the City or the County (well hwy 40 construction notwithstanding).

I've always wanted to bowl at Tropicana too. We should go one night, Bill.

i bowl on two leagues @ Olivette lanes...i really like the staff there....saratoga haven't been in years...pin up's lanes eat it...tropicana is OK...i dont like having to pay five bucks just to walk in the place on a weekend night!!!...so far the best lanes ive bowled on is strike n' spare 1309 N. Lindbergh Blvd...its geared towards the serious bowler...as far as smoke...if i come out of a bowling ally not smelling like smoke, fried food and lane oil...i might as well hang up my bowlin' shoes!!!

I just discovered North Oaks Bowl, which is, lane-wise, the largest bowling alley in Missouri (or so they claim on their website), with 64 lanes. Plus, it's apparently a mere 11 minutes from where I live. How did I never hear about this place before stumbling upon it on accident on the internet three days ago?
