THE CIRCUIT by LO-FI SAINT LOUIS

Hey Matt, I'm too ADD to post everyday...maybe even everyweek, but.....

I was in Los Angeles in November and went to see Heavy Trash (Jon Spencer' Blues Explosion new joint). As usual Jon was in rare form but more importantly, the band that opened for them, Powersolo from Denmark was utterly amazing (check them out on myspace!). The wall of sound and the swamp-F--- groove they treated us to was primal and so tight but not too.....oh hell just log out here go to myspace and listen, you can even hear it on a "canned track". For a three piece, really something to see and hear.

Did anyone(I know it'll be hard to admit) by chance go see the Led Zep tribute band at the Pagent recently? Some friends dragged me out and right away I was struck by two things 1)there were ALOT of folks there and B) there was a great divide; geezers and twenty somethings and 3) Even tho' it was like some kinda jacked up Mama Mia for Rock and Roll fans I actually enjoyed myself!!!
Once I relaxed about being somewhere I thought might be "uncool" I had a great time, besides I knew all the words to all the songs and even though I'm not a huge Zep fan (Stones Camp anyone?) I was there with friends and learned something about myself. I need to stop trying to BE cool and just be cool.

I'm off to see Marilyn Manson next...I'm so curious. I'll let you know how that goes.

Gee, I wrote that before X-Mas and thought I'd indicated I would write again after Marilyn Manson....Do you HAVE to contribute every day/month? I'd still like to blog....
What's up?

well actually you needn't blog on anyone else's schedule at all. of course we'd love to hear additional voices for our readers, no matter how frequently they post. My main quarell here being that Highway 61 is a blog about the metro Saint Louis area, or at least college aged action. With an entry like this there isn't really a consistant story or angle that makes it fit it. I mean, this is sort of just about different bands that play concerts, some of whom playing in a city in a different time zone. So it's not about the frequency, so much as the interest in writing a story for our blog's audience (which is finally growing as a result of its niche).

Anyway, the band you were originally thinking of is Zoso, the Led Zep cover band. Yeah, I hear they're pretty kick ass. You might consider writing for us stil? We could use help
