im goin to the st louis area in january for a few weeks, n am wonderin what the scene is like there and if there are gonna be any good concerts to check out
See the blog at http://www.myspace.com/schlaflybeer to see what shows are happening at the Schlafly Tap Room.
...and make sure you check out The City Museum http://www.citymuseum.org and the Mad Art Gallery http://www.madart.com
For good fun most every night, go to CBGB and Mangia Italiano on South Grand and listen to KDHX 88.1 FM http://www.kdhx.org (see their concert calendar for goings on).
By the way, stay away from Laclede's Landing. There's nothing worth seeing there. Fun spots in town are South Grand, Cherokee St., and the U. City Loop. Laclede's Landing is a waste of time, trust me.
Alright, cool. There's a great show at Off Broadway the night of Sat. January 5th. GONN, a legendary '60s garage rock band from Iowa is playing their first show in over two years. I dunno if you like raw '60s punk, but if you do by any chance, you don't wanna miss them. Opening will be two of St. Louis' best bands, too: The Vultures (garage/rockabilly) and The Nevermores (garage rock). I posted a flyer for the event today... check the photos area or that flyer thing on the front page. Off Broadway's website: www.offbroadwaystl.com
7 Shot Screamers, too. If they have any shows coming, check it out.
